Shipping and Packaging Do's and Don'ts

We receive lots of merchandise for repair. And although your item may need service, it's still very important to pack it properly. So we've designed a site to provide some assistance. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, check out the photos below to see what we mean.
Here's our quick review:
Layer the bottom of a sturdy cardboard box with packing peanuts. Wrap your unit in 3 layers of bubble wrap. Place your wrapped unit in the center of the box, making sure there is 2 1/2-3 inches between all sides of the box and your wrapped equipment. Fill remainder of box with peanuts.

Please, do not use one thin layer of wrap
or a piece of newspaper, then put merchandise
in a box four times it's size with nothing to
absorb the energy, as shown to the right.

Be sure to include a written description
of the problem along with your name,
address and phone number, and a copy
of your receipt if under warranty.

Finally, be sure to legibly write (or preferably type) our complete address as well as your return address on the label. After you secure it to the shipping container so it's easily visable, cover it with clear tape to ensure it does not smear. Insure it for it's retail value and use the responsible shipper of your choice. A hard to read label means it may end up somewhere else or not get delivered at all.

Completely secure all openings of the package with shipping tape. Duct tape works too, but Scotch tape does not.

If these materials are not available to you, take it to
your local packing store. They usually do a good job for a small fee.

We hope these suggestions and photos are helpful when you send your next product to Electro Services for repair or maintenance. Thanks for your cooperation.
